The City of London is to set up a wireless network covering the Square Mile that would give its 350,000 or so workers access to the internet through their laptop or mobile phone. Daily Telegraph.
A new 'mesh' technology will transfer users automatically from base station to base station as they pass by, allowing uninterrupted web access as they move around the City.
There will be around 130 base stations across the area when the system is turned on at the end of the month. Users will be charged about £11 a month.
