Businesses in Birmingham’s city centre have voted in support of setting up a Business Improvement District (BID) around the Colmore Row area of the city.
87.3% of businesses – or 90.1% by rateable value – which voted in the ballot approved the Colmore Business District BID plan.
The BID is set to be operational from 1 April and aims to bring £3.4m of private sector investment into the area, funded by a 1% levy on rateable value.
The Colmore Business District BID is the third for Birmingham city centre, joining the Broad Street and Retail Birmingham BIDs.
