Development Securities has been granted detailed planning consent for the redevelopment of Oriental City in London’s Colindale.

The London Borough of Brent’s planning committee yesterday unanimously approved the mixed-use scheme at 399 Edgware Road, London NW9.

It will comprise 300,000 sq ft (27, 871 sq m) of retail, 520 homes, including an affordable quota, associated retail and residential car parking and an 80,000 sq ft (7,432 sq m) primary school for 420 pupils.

In a separate statement, DevSecs said it was unlikely that a resolution to grant planning consent would be made this year for its Broughton residential project. This is because the developer needs to give proper consideration to the final element of the public consultation process.

The number of homes that Flintshire County Council considered could be accommodated on the site was increased by 35 to 260 last month.
