The decline in activity in Britain’s troubled construction sector has eased to its slowest pace since the recession began, according to new figures.
The CIPS/Markit construction purchasing managers’ index rose to 47 in July. from 44.5 in June. This was the highest reading in 16 months but still below the 50 level that indicates the sector is growing.
