Housing minister Yvette Cooper yesterday warned of the ‘misinformation’ surrounding home information packs, insisting that hee scheme was in the interest of consumers. Financial Times

Cooper said the packs, which are to be introduced on 1 June, were aimed at speeding up the process of homebuying and selling, which had been reformed for 25 years. ‘

In other industries you are seeing things being speeded up, more use of the internet, costs coming down,’ she said. ‘We want to see those kind of competitive reforms in home-buying and selling.’
