Aberdeen Property Investors has poached a seven-strong property investment management team, led by Glenn Newson, from Credit Suisse Asset Management

Newson will join Aberdeen as head of property asset management in the UK in advance of the planned launch of the company's first UK fund.

As the property arm of Aberdeen Asset Management, Aberdeen manages £6.5bn of property through funds and institutional mandates.

It is headed by Rickard Backlund and has 500 employees in 10 European countries.

It has so far focused on building a series of European single-country funds - Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden - and regional and sector funds.

The new UK fund will be marketed to institutional investors both in the UK and overseas.
