Crossrail will seek two-year project extension

Crossrail operator MTR will seek a two-year extension of its contract to build the £17.6bn rail line, according to the Financial Times.

The £1.4bn contract, which is due to expire in 2023, includes the option of a two-year extension and Transport for London has confirmed to the Financial Times that any extension would not go beyond 2025.
