The Sipsmith Gin Shop will offer exclusive products including a personalised ‘Gin Stocking’ alongside experiential elements including ‘hot gin’ masterclasses and an in-house gin bar. Sipsmith was established as a distillery in 2007, the first copper pot distillery to open in London since 1820.

Colliers International advised the Crown Estate and director Josh Leon told Property Week that the opening of “this modern-day version of a traditional gin shop, reimagined for 21st century London, comes at the perfect time”.

The gin retailer will sit alongside five other new signings at the Crown Estate-owned retail arcade in central London with modern day apothecary Anatomē, luxury glover and umbrella maker and surplus shirt manufacturer Sir Plus all signing for new stores and hat maker Christy’s and shoemaker Grenson both upgrading from pop-ups to permanent stores.

Oliver Smith, head of St James’s at The Crown Estate, said: “Together, these new brands represent the continued evolution of Princes Arcade and the St James’s area. Each of them signify craftsmanship, quality and style, and they combine this with a uniquely contemporary focus. It is particularly exciting that brands which came to us as pop-ups are now permanent residents in the arcade. This speaks to the quality of the destination and the positive impact made by its reinvigoration.”
