John Travers, the former chief executive officer of Cushman & Wakefield’s EMEA region, has died following a heart attack last Thursday.
Travers, 60, had been with C&W for more than 30 years after joining in 1975. He was made an equity partner in 1986 and in 1990 he was appointed senior partner to head up the EMEA region. He was also a member of the C&W global executive committee and chairman of the firm's Belgian, Dutch and German operations.
He was only six months into his retirement after leaving C&W in December last year. Last month he was appointed as a non-executive director of British Land.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
