David Hebditch has been named interim managing director of estate agency, Humberts.
He will also head up its rural practice group.
Hebditch, who joined the firm in 1983, moves up from his position as regional director of Humberts South West
He said: ‘Despite the mayhem in the financial markets, this is an exciting time for Humberts.
‘The breadth of our service offerings, strong financial position and depth of property knowledge makes Humberts the logical choice for anyone looking to buy, sell or manage property to best advantage.
‘These strengths also ensure that we are well placed to take advantage of the inevitable rebound in property sectors.
'I am delighted to be taking the helm at Humberts on an interim basis to ensure the company continues to develop its potential.'
Willem Baralt, an Humberts board director, added: ‘The Board is pleased that David Hebditch, an experienced and well respected industry professional, has agreed to step forward as the interim managing director for Humberts.
We expect a permanent appointment to be made in the next year.’
