Segro has signed up a major hotel chain to kickstart its ‘Village Farnborough’ concept at the newly rebranded IQ Farnborough.

De Vere Group will open a Village Hotel at the mixed-use business park in 2009, with 120 rooms, a health club, a restaurant and a pub.

IQ Farnborough is the new branded name for Farnborough Business Park in Hampshire. It stands for ‘Innovation Quarter’, and Segro is marketing it as an ‘urban busiess environment’.

The office park will also have 476 Redrow homes on site and a café bar.

IQ Farnborough is currently on the market as an investment, priced at around £160m. It is thought that Goodman and GE with Landid are the two bidders left in the race.

Kate Dean, leasing manager for IQ Farnborough, said the hotel’s arrival would reaffirm the Quarter’s development as an international business destination.
