Debenhams is to open its first Desire outlet in Ireland at Sam Morrison’s Fairhill Shopping Centre in Ballymena, Northern Ireland
The department store operator has taken a (20,000 sq ft) store over two levels for its Desire concept - a mix of women’s fashion, children’s wear and ‘top end’ health and beauty products.
The rent has not been disclosed but it is rumoured to be around £17.50/sq ft (£188.37/sq m). The store will open in autumn this year and will create 100 full-time and part-time jobs.
Debenhams has opened seven Desire stores so far in the UK with more to open this year in Walton on Thames and Altrincham.
Other tenants at Fairhill include Marks & Spencer, H&M, Next, River Island, Waterstones, Top Shop and Clockwork Orange.
