Debenhams has signed to become the anchor tenant at Westfield’s £300m Broadway development in Bradford

The store will comprise 117,000 sq ft (10,870 sq m) of women’s, men’s and children’s fashions and homewear, trading over three levels.

The store’s layout and design have been revised after a revised planning consent was granted last year, involving major improvements to the overall scheme design.

The Broadway shopping scheme will include 100 shops, two department stores, 171 apartments and 1,800 car parking spaces. Debenhams is one of two anchor stores that had committed to the project when originally conceived. Bhs has already signed up to take 40,000 sq ft in the revised scheme.

Michael Gutman, managing director of UK & Europe at Westfield, said: ‘We are delighted that Debenhams will have a major presence in our Bradford development. We have an excellent relationship with Debenhams, who will anchor our new Derby development and our Westfield London project at White City.’
