Bolton Council has picked Leeds-based developer Rushbond to redevelop a grade II-listed former town hall, in Bolton, Lancashire.

The developer will submit plans to turn Little Bolton Town Hall, along with adjoining building 34 All Saints Street, into a restaurant/bar and offices.

The development is part of a wider regeneration of the Little Bolton area in the Town Centre of the North West town.

Councillor Ebrahim Adia, Bolton’s executive member for development, said the appointment demonstrated increasing confidence in Bolton as an emerging investment and regeneration destination.

The council won an £800,000 grant last year to redevelop the area from the Townscape Heritage Initiative, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, with additional funds from the Council and Bolton Community Homes.

A planning application expected to be submitted at the end of the year, and on completion Rushbond will be granted a long lease on the property with the Council retaining the freehold.
