Development Securities said it had completed the development of the Southampton HQ for cruise line company Carnival two months ahead of schedule.

The 210,000 sq ft office was developed in a joint venture with Aviva Investors.

It occupies the West Quay III site in Southampton's Town Centre.

The building, complete with a 10,000 sq ft atria and sculpted public art façade, was handed over to Carnival yesterday for internal fit out

DevSecs forward sold the building to Aviva's Lime Property Fund in March last year for an undisclosed price.

Lime will hold the property on a virtual freehold basis from Southampton City Council.

The letting prelet to Carnival, which will occupy the building for 20 years, was one of the biggest-ever on the south coast.

GVA Grimley advised DevSecs.
