Asian entrepreneur James Caan has become the latest predator to eye troubled property services group Erinaceous after building a 3% stake in the company. The Daily Telegraph

Caan, who is joining the panel on the BBC's Dragons' Den show next week, has bought nearly 3m shares in Erinaceous at between 39p and 40½p in the past few days, fuelling speculation that his private equity firm, Hamilton Bradshaw, is interested in buying some or all of the company. Mr Cann refused to comment on the talk.

Caan may be interested in parts of Erinaceous that would fit with Hamilton Bradshaw's existing property businesses. In 2004, Hamilton Bradshaw backed the buyout of property group Avanta.
