Drivers Jonas has announced that it will open an office in Madrid as part of its European expansion.

Drivers Jonas España, which will open in November, will be headed up by Mathew Evans-Pollard, partner in Drivers Jonas’s London planning and development team. Evans-Pollard will relocate to Madrid to open the office.

Two Spanish property professionals, Paul Wakefield and Miguel Hernandez, will join Evans-Pollard in managing the office. Both will leave Aguirre Newman, Spain’s largest independent property firm, to join Drivers Jonas. Wakefield is a British citizen but has spent the majority of his career in Spain. He set up the Pro Activa Asset Management Company in 2005 with Hernandez, who is Spanish.

Nick Shepherd, managing partner of Drivers Jonas, said: ‘This is the next step in Drivers Jonas’s planned expansion strategy into mainland Europe. We see Madrid as an emerging market for Drivers Jonas as there is a strong flow of investment funds from Spain into the UK, France and Germany, some of which we have already working successfully with.’

Drivers Jonas already has European offices in Frankfurt and Paris.
