DSG international, the electrical retailer, is to roll out its new store concepts to more than 100 stores this year.

As revealed by Property Week (6 June 2008) the new concepts will update its existing store portfolio.

It opened its Birmingham Currys Megastore last year and has five new formats to roll out with 60 stores reformatted in the UK so far.

It plans to refit 90-120 stores across the UK and in the Nordic region in 2009/10.

The new Megastore trial will be rolled out to five further stores this year in the UK.

In an update yesterday it said new format stores delivered average gross profit uplifts of 15% to 50%.

John Browett, chief executive, said: ‘The past ten months have been a period of intense activity for the group, and the results of our new formats show that our plans are working.

'The store transformation programme in the UK is delivering both sales and margin uplift ahead of expectations, and we are on track with plans to reformat another 90-120 stores in the UK and Nordics over the next 12 months.’
