DTZ has poached a Barclays Capital managing director to be its global head of capital markets.
Serkan Bektas was in charge of UK solution and structured product sales at the investment bank.
Prior to that he was chief operating officer in Barclays Capital’s global investment banking division.
He will join DTZ in the second quarter of 2009 to oversee strategy and operations across DTZ’s three regional capital markets, The Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
DTZ said the appointment follows its presentation to analysts on 19 December last year at which it said it would reshape its executive management team to focus on financial performance and management discipline.
Paul Idzik, the former investment banker who became chief executive of DTZ two months ago joined from Barclays where he had been chief operating officer.
