EasyGroup is challenging the UK’s commercial landlords by renting out office premises by the week, paid for up-front. Financial Times, The Independent

The venture will be launched today with just one business centre of 8,000 sq ft in Kensington, London. This will provide accommodation of one to four desks for up to 35 businesses. Inducements include the promise of enterprise seminars led by Sir Stelios Haji-ioannou.

Sir Stelios said the Kensington centre was “a pilot”. He hopes the deployment of an internet booking system modelled on that of EasyJet, the low-cost airline, will produce occupancy rates of 90 to 95%. If so, he will expand by franchising the business next year.
