East Hampshire District Council appointed planning and landscape design consultancy EDAW is to work on a proposed Eco-town in Whitehill Bordon.

Plans to develop the current Bordon Army garrison site will include up to 7000 jobs, 5500 zero-carbon homes and 200 hectares of open land.

Work beings with a three-day consultation event in November which will allow local residents to contribute to design proposals

Alison Peters, urban design director at EDAW said: 'Residents what a better town centre with a better infrastructure and better facilities and we are determined to get these for them.'
