Outsourced data centre operator Electronic Data Systems (EDS) has bought a 300,000 sq ft shed from Helioslough and British Airways Pension Trustees at Wynyard Park in the North East

It is thought that EDS paid around £17.5m for Wynyard 360, at Wynyard Park in the Tees Valley.

It will use the building, which was the largest speculatively developed building on the site, as a data centre.

Helios director Trevor Cartner said: ‘It is a fillip for the North East and Wynyard to attract EDS for its latest data centre facility.’

525,000 sq ft of industrial accomodation at the park has now been let or sold, and 130,000 sq ft of office space. There are 35 companies based at the park.

M3, King Sturge and Knight Frank are letting agents on the scheme. CB Richard Ellis advised EDS.
