Kodak has offloaded its factory site in Knowsley, near Liverpool as part of its restructuring programme.

Kodak has sold its former imaging chemicals production facility at Kirkby Industrial Estate in Knowsley to Acorn Developments as part of its strategy toward becoming a digital business.

It is closing production facilities to transform into a digital company.

Business park to be created

Acorn Developments, an affiliate of Industrial Process Plants (IPP), bought the 37 acre site and its production plant and equipment, and will create a business park on the site to be called Image Business Park.

Offices and industrial units available

The site will accomodate B1, B2 and B8 uses with buildings available between 3,638 - 60,278 sq ft and office of between 500 - 12,352 sq ft at the site which is on the A580 East Lancashire Road, east of Liverpool.

IPP plans to make the site a ‘centre of excellence’ and has entered into a 250-year ground lease of the site with Knowsley Metropolitan District Council. King Sturge and Knight Frank advised on the sale.
