Jones Lang LaSalle has made 60-80 redundancies in England, the latest firm to cut jobs in the property sector.

In a statement this morning it said: ‘In light of the current challenging financial and economic climate, it has taken the difficult but necessary decision to make 60 - 80 redundancies affecting employees based in England.’

It said the redundancies are part of a ‘wider, strategic cost reduction exercise to ensure the firm’s ongoing competitive market position.’

It added: ‘Where possible the firm will consider redeployment opportunities for staff and will seek to provide any necessary support to those affected during this period of change.’

It is expected a number of other large property services firms will be making similar redundancies in the coming weeks.
