FTSE rises despite Westminster turmoil

The FTSE 100 rose 0.92% on Monday to 7,687.99 points despite a turbulent day in Westminster, which saw former housing minister Dominic Raab replace David Davis  as Brexit secretary after Davis’ resignation late on Sunday night.

Kit Malthouse, formerly a minister in the department of work and pensions has been named as the new minister of state for housing, the fourth person to hold the position in two years.
