The British Property Federation’s head of finance and investment Gareth Lewis is leaving to join the European Real Estate Association (EPRA).

Lewis, who has been at the BPF for two and a half years, will join EPRA in June this year and will be based at its Amsterdam office.

He will be responsible for advising the association, which represents Europe’s publicly listed real estate companies, on finance and tax issues facing the European property market.

He will report to EPRA’s chief executive officer Phillip Charles.

The BPF has yet to announce a replacement for Lewis who has spearheaded a number of its lobbying efforts on behalf of the property industry such as the removal of empty rate relief.
