Gladedale Group subsidiary Reland has submitted a planning application for a 368-homes development on a former military airbase in the Cotswolds.

The mixed use developer has submitted an outline planning application to Cotswold District Council.

A primary school and childcare facilities, shops, a village hall, sports pitches, a health centre, pub and a central park are included in the plans.

The base closed in 1996 and former military buildings totalling 450,000 sq ft still occupy the site.

As a part of the plans the former officer's mess will be retained and converted. The base also contains former military housing, which has been privately sold, and an operating business park.

Planning consultancy Barton Willmore advised Reland.
