Pioneer Technology has got the green light for a data centre in Loughton, Essex.

Epping Forest District Council granted planning permission for the 80,621 sq ft centre on the 2.6 acre site.

Charles Carden, of Jones Lang LaSalle’s data centre advisory group, which is marketing the site, said: ‘This decision only goes to reinforce Loughton as a strategic location for data centre occupiers.’

Steve Allen, managing director of Pioneer Technology, said: ‘Despite the current perception of limited availability, we’ve been able to secure this consent which in parallel with the availability of power means we can be confident of offering bespoke facilities for occupiers by 2010.’
