Unex Group has got the go ahead for a residential tower opposite Stratford bus station.

The development has received a resolution to grant planning permission from the London Thames Gateway Development Committee.

Its plan includes the demolition of Station House and the construction of a new mixed use 26 storey building comprising retail at the ground floor with five floors of offices and 260 one and two bedroom apartments.

The scheme, designed by Allies and Morrison Architects, also includes a shared residential roof garden on the top of the building with 360 degree panoramic views across the City and the Olympic Park.

The existing buildings are vacant and a start on site is expected in 2008 with completion in 2010.
