Goodman is to increase its exposure to France’s main logistics route with the opening of an office in Lyon and the development of two schemes in the area.
The Australian developer and fund manager said today it was opening the office, at its Parc Mail business park, to capitalise on the logistics traffic that runs through France from Marseille to Paris. The route, which goes through Lyon, accounts for 80% of all logistics movement in France.
Jean-Francois Mounic, development general manager for Goodman in France, said: ‘This new Lyon office is a strong signal to the market of our presence in the North-South axis.’
Goodman has agreed a pre-let with Hartmann, a pharmaceutical company, which will take 538,000 sq ft near the A6 motorway connecting Lyon and Paris.
The property, let on undisclosed terms, is expected to complete in the third quarter of 2009.
Goodman has also pre-let 322,920 sq ft to logistics service provider NYK Logistics at L’Isle d’Abeau.
As with the Hartmann letting, the terms have not been disclosed.
