Rugby-based Greatline Developments has appointed Mike Forster as its managing director.

Forster is a former Burford and Teesland director.

Forster will head up Greatline’s property team to develop and expand its portfolio.

The last two years has seen the company, which focuses on commercial and industrial developments, deliver £62m of schemes.

Forster said: ‘This is a fascinating opportunity to lead an organisation with a well established team.

'We have an interesting pipeline of schemes across all sectors, and unlike many commercial developers, are not highly geared.

'This will allow us to emerge from the property downturn with no legacy or loan-to-value issues, and with equity.

‘Our aim is to grow the business beyond our “back yard” of the Midlands, and capitalise on the undoubted opportunities that will arise, as we enter the recovery period. We are very much open for business for opportunities.’

Automotive entrepreneurs Robert and Mark Wilkinson set up Greatline five years ago.
