NPL Estates has got the go-ahead for a 40-acre regeneration scheme in Northwich, Cheshire.

The remediation and development company has won planning from Vale Royal Borough Council across three separate applications for a residential development and retirement village.

The plans include a 178-apartment retirement village and 96-bed nursing home, and two phases of residential development comprising 434 houses.

NPL is aiming to include 30% affordable housing in the scheme, which will be built on a former chemical works site.

Simon Towers, managing director of NPL Estates, said that the project represented major investment for the region.
