The Barker Mill Trust has got the go-ahead for one of the biggest business parks in Southampton.
The Trust got outline planning for the 800,000 sq ft Adanac Park on a 74-acre site on the edge of Southampton last night from Test Valley Borough Council.
The scheme went out to public consultation on 13 July, and planning was submitted in October.
The first building to be developed, which got detailed consent last night, will be a 180,000 sq ft headquarters for mapping company Ordnance Survey, which is working with Kier.
Pre-let plans
The park is earmarked by the local council for major office developments and ‘large space’ occupiers.
The Barker Mill Estate intends to sell sites to developers or owner-occupiers, or attract pre-lets and develop the buildings itself.
Planning and design firm Turley Associates, architect Broadway Malayan and property agency Humberts are advising.
