High street baked goods chain Greggs has announced plans to target up to 100 net store openings in 2019 having recorded a “very strong” performance over Christmas.
Greggs has raised its profit forecast for the second time in the past three months and is now forecasting a pre-tax profit for the past year of £88m with a 5.2% year-on-year rise in like-for-like sales during Q4. The baker said it has entered the new year with “good sales momentum” having seen good demand for its Festive Bake and mince pies and launched a new range of vegan sausage rolls.
