Grosvenor has appointed Kate Brown to take on the newly-created role of group director for environment and design.

Newly created to focus on sustainability

The property group says that creating the position reflects its focus on sustainability and the environment.

The appointment will become effective on January 1 2008.

Based in Australia

Brown moves from her role as development manager at Grosvenor Australia Asia Pacific. She will continue to be based in Australia, and will work within the Group Holding Company, reporting to Jeremy Newsum, group chief executive. Brown will be the first member of the Holding Company team to be based outside the UK.

Her role will be to champion sustainability across all areas of the business, as well as leading research and providing policy and strategy guidance.

Jeremy Newsum said: ‘This appointment reflects the importance we place on contributing to the development and management of sustainable cities and communities, by fostering best practice and deepening our knowledge across our international businesses.’
