Halfords property head Philip Bell-Brown is to join DSG International as property director.

He will join later this year replacing Sue Philipson who stepped down from the role during the summer, as reported in Property Week (04-05-07).

He will be responsible for property decisions in the UK for the retail group that includes chains such as PC World and Dixons.

Sue Philipson was the second property director to leave in two years. Philipson became property director after group property director Martin Meech left to join Travis Perkins Wickes in July 2005.

DSGi has been reducing its UK operations over the past three years. In 2005 it began consolidating its distribution centres, downsizing from 17 to two, and closed 106 unprofitable Dixons high street stores.
