Heron International and the Co-operative Insurance Society have topped-out their joint office development The Peak opposite London’s Victoria Station.

The scheme which is located immediately opposite Victoria Station and Cardinal Place will provide 98,000 sq ft of office and retail space. It is due to be completed this autumn.

Halifax, part of Lloyds Banking Group , has already taken 18,900 sq ft of space across the ground floor and basement of the development on a 15-year lease.

Peter Ferrari, joint managing director of Heron International, said: ‘The Peak continues the renaissance of Victoria as an attractive alternative to the West End and will be the only major new development to be completed in the area in 2009. Victoria is a prestigious location immediately adjacent to Buckingham Palace and Belgravia, providing significant transport connections and access to a wide range of amenities.

'DTZ and CBRE are joint letting agents. They said they are currently targeting media and government affiliated agencies who have traditionally acquired space in the area.

'They are also targeting financial services companies, particularly hedge funds, who have historically rented space in Mayfair and ‘who are now looking for value on the periphery of core West End’.
