Homes England funds £9m deal to build homes on rooftops

Apex House

Homes England has agreed to a £9m funding deal with Apex Airspace Developments to build homes on top of the roofs of already existing properties, according to a statement from James Brokenshire at London First Building Summit this morning.

The 78 properties will be built on five sites across the capital over the next three years. The Ministry for Housing Communities and Local Government said the developments will mostly be constructed off-site before being winched on top of buildings in order to minimise disruption to residents.
