Sir Tom Hunter has raised his stake in garden centre chain Dobbies to 21.4%. The Times
Hunter paid £18 a share, £3 more than the offer Tesco is expected to send Dobbies shareholders later this week.
Hunter already owns rival garden centre group Wyevale.
