Hydra Properties, a developer based in Abu Dhabi, says it is issuing new contracts, easing payment plans and doubling its customer service staff after complaints from buyers about construction delays and unfair price rises on their purchases.

'The market has been a bit nervous,' said Ahmed Khalil, the sales and customer service manager at Hydra. 'Having said that, the good news is that we revamped and restructured our customer service organisation.'

He said new contracts were being prepared that required buyers at Hydra Village to pay 2.5 % every two months until the project was completed in late 2011, compared with a previous plan that required buyers to pay 10% every three months until completion, which was originally scheduled for this year.
