ING has appointed Marcel Kooij as its managing director of ING Real Estate Development UK.
He will move from continental Europe to take the position in February.
Kooij has a long development pedigree and is best known for bringing about the completion of ING’s Zlote Tarasy shopping centre in Warsaw, Poland which finally opened last year after long delays and cost overruns.
Martin Taylor, country manager at ING Real Estate Development UK, said: ‘Marcel’s experience will complement our focus on mixed-use development and we welcome his move to join the UK team. With our strong development pipeline, he will play a pivotal role in supporting the ongoing growth of the business.’
Kooij will manage ING’s UK developments in Chester, Thatcham, Stevenage, Guernsey, Brighton and Hayle Harbour, Cornwall.
