ING Real Estate Investment Management revealed today it was about to submit plans to redevelop the former headquarters of Scottish Provident in Edinburgh.

The office complex, at 3-8 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh will be part demolished to create retail and offices with residential apartments.

A detailed planning application is being submitted following six months of detailed discussions with The City of Edinburgh Council, Historic Scotland and Architecture & Design Scotland.

It plans to keep the grade A-listed 3 and 3a St Andrew Square, together with the category B listed 6 and 7 St Andrew Square.

CDA and Gareth Hoskins Architects are architects on the site, to the south of St Andrew Square.

Scottish Provident vacated the 130,000 sq ft (12077 sq m) office in 2003.
