Italian restaurant Il Borro has signed a 20-year lease at 15 Berkeley Street, which will be its first foray into the UK market.

The restaurant will replace Japanese eatery Nobu, which Property Week revealed last week were vacating the space after 15 years.

Il Borro will take the 11,000 sq ft location for what is understood to be in excess of £200 per sq ft.

The restaurant is set to open later this year and will sit alongside other prestigious venues including Sexy Fish, Annabel’s and The Arts Club.

Knight Frank acted on behalf of landlord LRC for 15 Berkeley Square and Dean Gambles & Co acted for Il Borro.

“We are delighted at bringing a piece of Italy’s Tuscan region to London’s world-class restaurant destination in Mayfair,” said Josh Braid, partner in Knight Frank’s central London team.

“After a global search for this renowned flagship, we are impressed with Il Borro’s culture, creativity and attention to detail making this combination a truly exciting prospect for London’s fine dining scene.”
