If you didn’t already have Grand Designs on heading to this year’s RESI Convention, now’s the time, because the host of the hit Channel 4 show Kevin McCloud is the latest speaker lined up to appear at the Celtic Manor Resort this September.
McCloud, who will be speaking about “getting creative about modernising housing”, will be joined by Design Haus Liberty founder Dara Huang, who will talk about her pioneering new project Vivahouse.
The system from Design Haus Liberty sees prefabricated modular housing installed in vacant commercial properties in a bid to use spaces abandoned by collapsed retailers across London. The concept has been hailed as the urban house of the future.
Other speakers confirmed for this year’s must-attend RESI event include housing minister Kit Malthouse.
