The largest purpose built rugby stadium in the UK, being built for the Leicester Tigers, got the go ahead this week.
The local council has granted planning for the £60m development, a 30,000 capacity stadium for the club at Welford Road.
North West architects the Frank Whittle Partnership is advising on the scheme.
David Robinson, managing partner of the Frank Whittle Partnership, said it was a milestone in the club’s history. He said: ‘For the last four years the club have sold out every league and cup game and they just need to increase the stadium capacity to the demand there is to watch the Tigers.’
The Frank Whittle Partnership, which is working with designer AFL on the stadium, is also advising on football stadiums for Preston North End and Oldham Athletic, and worked on the £32m revamp of Doncaster racecourse.
It is also working with Peel Holdings to create a £100m new racecourse in Manchester.
