Moody’s, the rating agency, put Kuwait on review yesterday for a possible downgrade as a result of a political crisis in the oil-rich state.
The move came a day after Kuwait’s ruler dissolved parliament for the second time in a year, following the resignation of the government to prevent MPs questioning Sheikh Nasser al-Mohammed al-Sabah, prime minister.
It is the first time that Moody’s has put Kuwait on review for a downgrade.
