Lend Lease has signed an agreement with Stockport Council to develop a £500m retail-led, mixed-use scheme in the town centre

The Bridgefield development will also feature an element of residential and leisure development. It will form the centrepiece of the council’s regeneration plans for the town.

Alastair Smart, head of new business for Lend Lease, said: ‘Stockport fits with our strategy of securing large, mixed-use developments in major towns offering significant growth potential.’

Sue Derbyshire, executive member for regeneration at Stockport Council, said: ‘With this seal of approval from the Lend Lease board we can now progress towards a full-scale public consultation on the proposals for the Town Centre extension and the submission of a planning application.’
