Coolmore Estates has won planning consent for a 1.5m sq ft film studio complex at Seaham in County Durham.
The consortium, led by property developer and film producer Philip Moross, was granted consent for the £200m development by Easington District Council.
Coolmore is proposing to build a 435,000 sq ft creative centre including studio and a business park for related industries on the 200-acre site.
The consortium, which also includes hotelier and developer, Tom Maxfield, and John Wood, chairman of the north-east’s biggest construction firm, Tolent, will also building a 150-bedroom hotel and 650,000 sq ft to an educational campus.
The scheme was designed by Michael Drain Architects.
