Bluemantle, a Cheshire-based property investment and development company, has won planning permission for a 13-acre residential-led mixed use development in Disley near Macclesfield.

The application has been given the go-ahead by Macclesfield Borough Council.

The scheme will include a combination of residential, senior care living, public open space and employment uses.

The site, allocated for employment use, is located off Redhouse Lane in Disley and was previously occupied by drum-manufacturer, Fibrestar and Harcostar.

HOW Planning advised on the application and senior planner said: ‘These proposals will rejuvenate what is currently a very inefficient site which isn’t benefiting the existing occupier and which causes disruption to the surrounding area.

‘The development of this employment land will free up what is the only large brownfield site in Disley to meet housing and employment needs of local people for years to come.’
