Macquarie Goodman has acquired a portfolio of logistics and office park properties for £179.9m
The Australian industrial property group that owns Arlington Securities in the UK has bought the 1.14m sq ft (105,908 sq m) Lighthouse portfolio at a net yield of around 5.6%, as tipped by Property Week (news 30.06.06).
Macquarie Goodman is thought to have won from a shortlist that included Morley Fund Management, Standard Life, Prupim, Insight Investment, New Star and Canada Life.
The eight-building portfolio, placed on the market by Strutt & Parker on behalf of a Kuwaiti finance house, produces annual rental income of £10m.
It comprises eight single-let properties including three office parks in Bracknell and Leatherhead and five distribution warehouses in Thurrock, Gloucester, Rotherham, Northampton, and South Normanton..
The assets are likely to be separated and sold predominantly into third party funds managed by Arlington Securities.
